The New Canal Light Station was established in 1838.
The current existing tower was constructed in 1901. The
tower height is 32 feet, giving the focal plane a height of
52 feet above sea level.  It is currently equipped with a
190 MM optic. The site is currently in use as a U S
Coast Guard rescue station.

The site is located at West End Boulevard and
Lakeshore Drive in New Orleans, Louisiana. For a
